Tuesday October 25th

Halloween Happening 5:00 PM – 6:30PM @ Birmingham Branch: Parade into the Birmingham Library wearing your favorite costume to receive a tasty treat, no tricks please!  Representatives from various neighborhood organizations are scheduled to pass out treats!

Toledo Museum of Art’s Family Center 10AM-3PM- kiddos can create, paint, & play (no admission or registration/reservation necessary, drop in & enjoy). 2PM- Glassblowing demonstrations in the Glass Pavilion.


Wednesday October 26th

Halloween Bash 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM @ Kent Branch (Meeting Room A): Join us for a frightful party! Be prepared for ghoulish games, creepy crafts, monster stories, and some delightfully dissected treats. Costumes welcome

Spooktacular Halloween!  4:00 PM – 5:00 PM @ South Branch (Meeting Room) Calling all boils and ghouls! Celebrate Halloween @ the Library. Join us for ghastly games, spooky treats, and a whole lot of creepy fun! Costumes welcome.

Scary Library! 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM @ Mott Branch (Meeting Room A & B) :Games and goodies will be floating through the library tonight.  Wear your costumes and get ready for a howling good time!

Thursday October 27th

Read for the Record All Day Event @ all Library Branches: Join us in reading “The Bear Ate Your Sandwich” by Julie Sarcone-Roach, October 27, 2016 and help us set a world record! Read for the Record©, presented in partnership with Pearson, is Jumpstart’s world record breaking campaign that brings children and adults together to read the same book, during the same week, in homes and communities all over the world.

Costume Parade!  11:00 AM – 11:30AM @Maumee Branch: Kids (and the young at heart) put on your costume and head to the Maumee Branch Library. Stop in at stations around the branch and pick up some treats.

Solving Mysteries with Chemistry! 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM @ Washington Branch (Meeting Room A & B): Help us celebrate National Chemistry Week with this hands on presentation from the local chapter of the American Chemical Society! The theme this year is Solving Mysteries with Chemistry. You bring your curiosity and we’ll provide the supplies!

East Toledo Family Center Halloween Trunk or Treat 5:30pm-7pm: Come to WAITE HIGH SCHOOL a free evening of outside “Trunk & Treating” Bring a bag.  This event is for children 13 and under and all children must be with an adult.  Candy is ony provided to children that are present! RAIN OR SHINE!

Friday October 28th

Community Preschool Trick-or-Treat 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM @Holland Branch (Meeting Room A & B): This fun annual Halloween program for Preschoolers includes pumpkin decorating, activities, treats and much more. Start at the Strawberry Acres Lodge and walk the decorated path to the Holland Library where fun and surprises await! This program is generously sponsored by the Holland Springfield Journal, the Village of Holland, Friends of the Holland Branch Library and the Holland Springfield Rotary.


Trick-or-Treat for Tots Halloween Celebration at Franklin Park Mall: 10AM-NOON in the Food Court Children six and under are invited to put on their costumes and head to Franklin Park Mall for indoor trick-or-treating, fall crafts, a photo booth character appearances and more!

Open Late so make it a Date! @ Secor Metropark 5PM-9PM FREE: It’s Friday night and the gallery is open late so make it a date. Come experience the beautiful images at the National Center for Nature Photography, light refreshments, and, of course, your dear sweet.


Saturday October 29th

Celebrate Star Wars 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM @Waterville Branch (Meeting Room A) A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….you don’t have to time travel or get into a spaceship to enjoy Star Wars!!!   Join the Waterville Branch Library for a Star Wars celebration.  Out of this world crafts and galactic goodies for all ages will be ongoing during our afternoon celebration.  Dress up like your favorite character!!!

Halloween Magic with Mr. Puppet 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM @ Main Library (McMaster Center) Celebrate LaughFest and Halloween! Puppets and silly magic are the ingredients in this more-funny-than-scary Halloween variety show. Come on in to the Library to see what magic and laughs ventriloquist Mr. Puppet conjures up.



Trunk or Treat at The Andersons Maumee Store! 10AM-12PM: It’s a fun time for all! In the Garden Center.

OctoBOOfest Downtown Perrysburg : 10AM-2PM: The annual event is highlighted by a community pumpkin carving station at Hood Park in downtown Perrysburg beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until the pumpkins are gone. The carved pumpkins will be on display throughout the following week near the Commodore Perry Monument. There will be prizes awarded for winners of this amateur carving competition.

  • Wilson Lake and the Rock Bass, a children’s themed band, will perform on E. Second Street at Louisiana Ave.;
  • A costume parade led by Princess Laurel will commence at 12:00pm.; and
  • Face painting, bouncy houses for both toddlers and older kids, and family activities including a petting zoo and a train ride.

The family events will be from 10:00 – 2:00 and are presented by Mercy Health Partners.

“There are fun activities for kids of all ages, making this event perfect for the entire family. The Mayberry Square Halloween Walk 2-3:30 PM at the Shoppes of Mayberry Square: This is one of our favorite events! Bring the kids for trick or treating at participating Mayberry Square businesses! Its a lot of fun and we have several different events in which to participate!

A costume contest will be held at Frameworks Art and Frame! This year the contest will be judged by Shoppes of Mayberry Square Business owners!

Personal Eyecare will host a pumpkin decorating contest!

The Next Sweet Thing will have sugar cookie decorating and face painting!

Potato Sack Races will be held in the Square!

Spooktacular Zombie Night Shoot @ Westwinds Metropark:

The zombie apocalypse is upon us and Metroparks needs your help.

The park district staff has turned Westwinds into another world for a free nighttime, Halloween-themed archery shoot Saturday, October 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Westwinds Metropark

Bring a flashlight, headlamp, or both. Halloween costumes are encouraged, and so is your favorite glow-wear (please make sure they are safe for archery).

Have your own equipment? Test your skills on the graveyard 3D course. If you need a bow to get the job done, Metroparks will provide the gear for beginners ages 8+ on the static range.

Snacks and a campfire will keep you warm and full for the fight

Sunday in the Park with Art: Family Gallery Day: @ Secor Metropark: Looking for creative way to spend a Sunday in the park with the family? The National Center for Nature Photography is here make it a Sunday in the Park with Art. There will be scavenger hunts, photography tips, games and art activities to get the whole family involved! Start in the gallery spaces to explore the current exhibits, create nature inspired art, join the nature photography walk at 1:00 pm, hear the gallery story at 2:30 pm, and follow the fun to the Window on Wildlife and park trails to discover what is waiting to be seen around Secor Metropark.

Spend the Day at TMA!! The Toledo Museum of Art’s Sunday FREE Family fun Day!
