Boyd’s Retro Candy Store
Address: 954 Phillips Ave, Toledo, OH 43612
Decorating a gingerbread house, need chocolate coins for St. Nicolas day, or perhaps some fun stocking stuffers? Boyd’s Reto Candy Shop is where you can find all that and more! This is my favorite spot for sweet treats for kids’ b-day parties and holidays. Though, you should be warned, when you walk through the door to that pink peculiar building you will step back into childhood & find all sorts of treasures from your youth.

Looking to cut your meal prepping time in half, have unbelievable delicious foods with rich flavor, & finally get your kids to each their vegetables? Then you are going to want to grab some bottles of Bubble Olive Oil Company’s infused extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars. I use these ALL THE TIME on fish, meat, & vegetables. The flavor, taste, texture, is incomparable! I also like the fact that you can taste everything before committing. These make the perfect gifts because not only are you giving the gift of healthy, mouthwatering dishes, but you are also giving the gift of less time in the kitchen. They have an adorable sample option that is perfect for first time user, and it is affordable.

Health Foods by Claudia has an awesome selection of organic foods, handmade soaps, baked goods, etc. You could easy put together your own little Christmas basket for a friend or family member with the wide variety of options available or better yet get a friend a gift card so they can shop. And I will tell you my favorite part of Health Foods by Claudia is the vitamin, minerals, supplements area….the women who work there are so knowledgeable, on more than a few occasions they helped me determine precisely what I needed, where my body was deficiency, and what I needed to take, when my doctor was totally clueless!

This casual, long-running Italian restaurant with chalkboard specials & an attached wine shop is our go-to local hot-spot for birthday celebration, dinner out as a fam, you name it! We love the fact that there is something for everyone, the kiddos always get a pizza, my husband is a HUGE fan of their lasagna, and for me it doesn’t get any better than their roasted veggies…my mouth is literally watering just thinking about it.
Never underestimate the power of a gift certificate. I don’t know any mother who wouldn’t appreciate not having to cook for the night.

It has been a long time tradition in our house to give Christie’s Candies & Mints to all Holiday hosts and as Teachers’ Christmas gifts (they wrap the chocolates for you & have a variety of wrapping paper to select from!). Where Boyd’s is the retro, kid, candy store, Christie’s is the sophisticated, fancy, classy, adult candy store….does that made sense? And the quality of Christie’s candy is unsurpassed by any brand you find in the store.

Style 5:16 Consignment Boutique
Phone: (419) 214-0029
Address: 3142 Markway Rd, Toledo, OH 43606
First off, we need to clarify that this is not a frumpy second-hand shop, it is consignment, that means each item in the store has an owner that cared greatly for said item, took care of it, and wants to see it handed off to a new owner who will hopefully care for it as much as they did…let’s be honest, bidding farewell to a Coach is hard! Respect the Fashion. That being said this boutique is filled with deals, steals ($6 rack…see image of the sweet find we scored!), vintage, name brands, high-end brands, you name it and Style 5:16 has it! Purses, sunglasses, shoes, dresses, skirts, jewelry, etc. you can literally shop head to toe. And best part sunglasses, purses, and jewelry are a one-size fits all kind of gift! (Hint Hint)
