FOSSIL PARK
Fossil hunting pit is opens for the Season!!
Travel back in time 375-million-years ago when Northwest Ohio was a great sea teeming with life. Bring a brush to assist in cleaning your fossils, as well as something in which to carry your buried treasures home with you.

SUMMER READING CLUB (SRC)
Summer Reading Club is a free reading program full of fun activities and great prizes. Lucas County residents of all ages are eligible to participate.
Summer Read
June 3 – Aug. 3
Open to all ages! Register for Summer Read at any Toledo Library location.
Complete the Summer Read by:
- Reading for 30 days (all ages) or
- Reading 10 books (teens and adults)
Pick up an activity log and color in a circle for each day that you read or track the list of books that you’ve completed. You can also track your reading progress using the link below or by downloading and using the Beanstack Tracker App (available on iOS and Google Play).
Summer Read Grand Prizes
Bring your activity log into any Library location for a midway prize (15 days or 5 books completed) and once finished, bring it back in to receive your final prize and be entered to win the following grand prizes:
- Five Kindles from Biblioteca
- Overnight stay in a new Metroparks treehouse
- 20 Mud Hens family four-packs
- UT Rocket Kids Club Membership (ages 0-10)
- Four tickets to a UT Rockets football game (ages 11-18)

Ice Cream Social at Wildwood Metropark
Come enjoy the toe-tapping Dixieland band music of Ragtime Rick, delicious homemade ice cream from Handel’s, tasty cupcakes and beverages for a low cost of 50 cents. Rain or shine meet us on the front lawn by the Manor House.

SUMMER BROWN BAG CONCERT SERIES
Wednesdays | 12:15 p.m. | Maumee
The 2019 Brown Bag Summer Concert Series is a FREE eight-week music event that runs from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., on Wednesdays starting June 5th-July 24th. This year, the annual summer concert series is being held on the lawn of Maumee Branch! Enjoy concerts featuring the following performers:

Toledo Museum of Art Family Center
Free, fun, and open to everyone! The TMA Family Center, located in the education wing near the Plough entrance, is the perfect place for your youngest Museum visitors to make and take memories. Drop in for themed activities that enliven the world of art for kids ages 1-10 (and even grown-ups!). Check the calendar for upcoming project themes.

Music Under the Stars Concert Series
Presented by the Toledo Symphony@ Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre. Music Under the Stars, the beloved summer tradition, returns to the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater in summer 2019.
Summer Sunday evenings at 7:30pm. Each show features a fun musical theme that your family is sure to enjoy, and admission is free! While admission gates for these free concerts open at 6:00 p.m., the Toledo Symphony requests that the Amphitheatre does not open for guests to begin seating until 6:30 p.m. Guests entering in the Broadway Entrance during that time are encouraged to visit the Concessions stands in the Main Plaza to grab some ice cream or a snack.

Where: The Hill at Northview
Join us for our Meijer Movie Night, Friday, June 28th at the Hill at Northview! There will be food trucks including Koral Hamburger, Old Tyme Kettle Korn, and Mayberry Ice Cream.

Join us for the 2019 Maple & Main Art and Music Festival in downtown Sylvania! Artists from all over the region will line Main Street with everything from glass art, to ceramics and paintings! Take a break from perusing the art to enjoy a glass of wine or beer, including local brews from Inside the Five and Upside Brewing! They’ll also have some tasty offerings from local food trucks! Enjoy a variety of local music performances throughout the weekend. And be sure to check out the kids’ area.
Saturdays at Imagination Station
Imagination Station has FREE admission for Lucas County kids, 12 and under, with paid adult admission. Limit 2 children per adult. 10am-5pm (adult admission: $13)

The Toledo Firefighter’s Museum
Open Saturdays (12pm-4pm)
The museum’s million dollar display includes many large pieces of vintage firefighting equipment. The centerpiece of the museum is the 1837 “Neptune”, Toledo’s first fire pumper. That the kiddos will get a kick out…perfect photo op moms!
But what the children will be talking about years later is….
“Fireman Freddy’s Fire Station” which was constructed to allow children to actually role play situations they might encounter in their home. Under the trained supervision of the Fire Prevention Bureau, children are taught how to roll out of bed, keep low in case of smoke, and feel the door for heat with the back of their hand. Families are encouraged to plan escape routes from their homes, designate a common meeting place, and test smoke detectors regularly.
Toledo Police Museum
Thursday-Saturdays 10am-4pm
Take a trip back in time when officers walked the beat in all kinds of weather to hit a call box or jumped on the riding boards of a passing car to hitch a ride to a robbery in progress.
Kiddos can get locked in jail and have their mug shot taken by the original TPD mug shot camera! The museum offers many interactive displays for all ages!

Home-Depot-Kids-Workshop
First Saturday of every month (9am-12pm)
The Home Depot offers free workshops for do-it-yourselfers of all ages and experience levels. Registration is required.
- Review the schedule of upcoming workshops and choose a specific workshop to attend.
- You’ll see a variety of workshops scheduled – please be sure to select the correct workshop you’d like to participate in & be sure to register.
Make a day of it at Maumee Bay! (Open daily dawn-dusk)
Pack a picnic lunch, grab some sunblock, pack your swimsuits, and head to Maumee Bay for the Day. Enjoy swimming, hiking, walking on the board walk, playing on the playground, etc. There is plenty to do at Maumee Bay, enjoy a fun filled family day or time with friends for FREE!

Sand & Sky Funtastic Event
The annual Summer event is back at Levis Commons with a twist in 2019.
Come out June 21-22 and enjoy a huge community sandbox stocked with castle-making toys. Enjoy music performances all day long, street performers, water tables, vendor activity booths, Power Wheel rides, and a spectacular kite festival with stunt kites, kite ballet, kite candy drops, and your chance to fly with the pros!

Point Place Days is an annual celebration of the Point Place and Shoreland community that takes place during the month of June. There are dozens of events throughout the month – something for everyone!
They have barbeques, car shows, fireworks, concerts, pie and cake contests, and much more!
And of course, we their fantastic PARADE!
This year’s parade theme is “Century of Champions”
Parade is on Saturday, June 1, at 12:00 noon.

W.W. Knight Nature Preserve

Every Monday in summer, visit the W.W. Knight Nature Preserve for Paddle the Pond. This is a FREE paddle experience provided from 4:00 – 7:30 pm. Certified instructors are on-hand to provide a brief safety lesson. All gear is provided. The last Monday of the month, kayaks are available as well as the canoes.
Ages: 12 years of age and older to paddle a kayak and 4 years of age or older to ride in a canoe.
Old West End Festival
Saturday and Sunday, June 1st, 2nd, 2019!
Official events include House Tours, The King Wamba Parade, a Juried Art Fair, Entertainment, Children’s Activities, Food Vendors, OWE Stampede 5k run/walk, Beer Pavillion, Yard Sales, Antique Car Show, and Vendors Alley. The un-official events are front yard grill outs, brunches, porch musicians, street performers, face painting, parties, and curbside local artists to name a few. Come join us this year and enjoy the experience that’s been voted ‘Toledo’s Best Neighborhood’!

Wauseon Homecoming Parade to be held Saturday June 22nd in downtown Wauseon. The parade begins at 11:00 am.

Movie Night at Side Cut Metropark
Movie and Popcorn under the night sky. Join us for a free movie under the stars. The feature movie will be Goonies. Bring a blanket/chairs and enjoy an outdoor movie experience. Popcorn will be available for a small fee, provided by Volunteers In Parks.
Breakfast on the Farm
June 15th Breakfast On The Farm event to be held at the same Henricks & Krieger Dairy from 9 am to 1 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Breakfast On The Farm will give the public a chance to visit this modern dairy, take a crop tour, pet baby calves, see large tractors, visit the children’s area and so much more!
