Anxiety is one of the hardest things to treat because of how diversely it can affect your body. This is why it can take multiple strategies and treatments in order to best alleviate the stress that your body feels.
Here are six ways to help you find the right type of treatment for yourself. You may need to use a combination or maybe one of them will work for you perfectly! It all depends upon you, the work you put in, and how you address your anxiety.

1. Communicate With Your Doctor
If you have social anxiety, then communicating with your doctor is probably not the easiest thing to do. However, it is one of the most important things to do. Believe it or not, doctors have a lot of experience with different types of issues especially if they’re a generalist.
What are Their Suggestions?
Pay attention to their suggestions: going out and walking, going to the gym, going out into nature, and many different strategies are all things that they might suggest. Who knows, they might have a new suggestion that you’ve never tried. Don’t be afraid to try new things!
Talk About Working with a Therapist and/or Psychiatrist
If your doctor isn’t exactly comfortable working with anxiety, make sure that they are willing to work with a therapist or a psychiatrist. If they are willing to work with your team of doctors, then you are going to have a better experience. They may even be able to suggest doctors that they’ve worked with before!
2. Try One Method at a Time
If you’re an overachiever, which many with anxiety are, this is not the time to try every single method of all at once. That can actually be far more detrimental than helpful!
Something to look at first and foremost, is are you taking care of yourself? Are you drinking enough water? Are you taking time to process your feelings and to process the anxiety that’s going on?
If you aren’t then those are forms of self-care that you probably need to include in your daily life.
3. Don’t Worry if Things Don’t Work Right Away
One of the hardest things to get past when you’re dealing with anxiety is the question “What if it doesn’t work?”.
This is a difficult state to be in. Going back to old habits, trying new habits, or staying where you are can all create a sense of anxiety because there is a sense of the unknown.
When this happens, you need to reflect on what did work, reassess what didn’t work, and then try again with either something new or a combination of things that you used before
4. Utilize Medical Marijuana
Medical Marijuana Doctors are used to working with patients that have anxiety, depression, pain, and many other symptoms that make it difficult to live your daily life.
They are knowledgeable and can work closely with dispensary specialists who have a more intimate knowledge of different strains. If you decide to work with a medical marijuana doctor, you may find your anxiety decreases at a faster rate while also using other strategies.
5. Work on Your Eating Habits
Believe me, I know it may feel like it, but food is not exactly your friend when it comes to anxiety. There are so many different chemicals in many of the common foods that we eat, and there’s also caffeine in a surprising amount of foods. Each easily affects the way that our body reacts to situations.
The chemicals can affect how our minds work with necessary physical and mental regulation. This is why it’s important to stop and assess what you’re eating, then see how you feel after you eat. If your anxiety goes up, then there might be something in the food that increases anxiety for you.
6. Don’t be Afraid to Combine Strategies
And finally, something that not a lot of people like to hear. You may have to combine multiple strategies in order to address your anxiety.
This can be a difficult thing to do especially if you’re having to go to multiple doctor’s appointments or if you’re having to utilize multiple types of medications, or most of your day is taken up trying to manage anxiety that is constantly present.
Try your best not to get disheartened. It’s okay to combine strategies and in fact, it’s probably better to have multiple strategies available to you at all times.
Conclusion
There are many things that I like to call anxiety that are not exactly appropriate.
It’s frustrating, overwhelming, and often misunderstood. Despite that, you can use multiple strategies in order to best help yourself so that way you can succeed in the long run.
