What You Need to Know About Planning an Epic Baby Shower

When you think of baby showers, what immediately comes to mind? Is it pink or blue balloons everywhere? Is it a cute cake? Is it just sitting around in the living room and opening up gifts? Some people are excited about baby showers because they can be just as fun as any other party, like a birthday party, and some people dread them because sometimes they’re a tad more boring than other parties (like sitting around and only opening presents).

While you don’t have to make this wild like a girl’s night out, even baby showers can be a lot of fun; it’s all about adding that pizzazz! So, here’s exactly how you can create that epic baby shower!

You Need a Theme

Like with birthdays and weddings, even baby showers can have a theme. Sure, it’s going to be a babyish theme (hence the name), but the theme itself helps liven it up a bit. Some fairly popular themes that you’ll usually see floating around online can include classic baby colors, specific nursery themes, or creative and unique concepts.

Get Those Invites Going

You don’t have to print out the themes like you would like weddings; these can be e-invites. But you’re going to want to put that theme you’re going for into the invite so it gives your guests a general idea of the theme (which can help them with buying gifts). You can use Canva to make your invites, and even after the party, when it is time to thank everyone for their gifts (a few days or weeks afterward), you can then create some thank you cards with the same theme intact -and of course make it on Canva too.

Are You Going to Have a Venue?

For the most part, baby showers are parties that are mostly done at home. But that doesn’t mean that you actually have to do this at home. If you’re wanting to make it epic, it might actually be better if it’s not done at home. You could look into renting a banquet hall or reserving a private room at a restaurant. But in general, you just need to think about the amount of guests who’ll attend and also consider the convenience of the location for the guests.

You Need Decor

Since a baby shower is a party, you’re going to want to deck out the space or venue, so it actually looks and feels like a party should. From balloons and banners to centerpieces and table settings, let your creativity shine! This is actually going to be one of the main things that really helps make the baby shower feel epic rather than some run-of-the-mill party.

What’s On the Menu?

You’re going to want a cake or some type of dessert(s) like cupcakes, cookies, you name it. You can opt for a themed baby shower cake, or you can go the simple route with blue or pink frosted cupcakes if you’re on a budget. But outside of that, what’s there going to be to eat? Brunch, lunch, or afternoon tea are popular choices if you’re going to hold this at a restaurant, but if you’re going this at home, then some snacks like chips or a charcuterie board can suffice, too.
