The cost of living is high enough right now that the last thing that you want to do is spend more money than is necessary. However, we’re into the winter season which means that we have to do everything possible to stay warm and conserve energy, and that means looking at your current winter wardrobe and maximizing it where possible.
Your winter wear needs to be long lasting, so thermal gloves for women and thick thermal leggings are going to be wardrobe gamechangers for you. You want to make a point of revamping and revitalizing the wardrobe you’ve got, though, and if you can do that without spending any money? You’re golden! So, with that in mind, here’s how you can maximize your winter wardrobe this year.
- Go through your wardrobe.A wardrobe workout is an activity that is spent looking for new ways to put outfits together. Setting aside all of your summer wear, how much winter wear have you got and what do you need to buy? This is the first thing you need to determine is what you need. You can then maximize the things that you’ve got. From here you can buy what you need such as the thermal gloves and the leggings that we mentioned earlier on. Try on everything from last winter as well, just to make sure things aren’t too big or too small for you.
- Upgrade your usual look. If you always are looking for the same styles and combos, it might be time to establish yourself a personal uniform that you’re solely known for. You might be used to wearing dresses of a certain style or jeans with a specific style of top, but you can play around with different outfits so that you can maximize your winter look. Date night looks, school looks, study looks, work looks. Whatever it is that you’re trying to maximise, you can do that by season.
- Get inspired by what you’ve got already. If you’re inspired to go out shopping, then it’s time to curb that temptation and look at the things that you have. Pairing different outfits and layering different types of tops can really help you to stay warm in the winter, giving your winter wardrobe a boost. Anything that you’ve already got can be repurposed or reused in different ways, so you need to get a little creative with your wardrobe style here.
- Go thrift shopping. If your budget is small but your winter wardrobe is smaller, then it may be time to go thrift shopping. Head to the local op shops and charity shops to see whether you can find a new coat, some long trousers and even some jumpers to wear. Everything will usually be a fraction of the cost of buying things new, and you get to stay warm in the winter without having to worry. If necessary, sell the clothes you no longer plan to use and use that for your op shop shopping.
