Families are invited to Sunshine Communities for a free, accessible, all-ages trick-or-treat costume event on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Guests are encouraged to come in costume, stroll the boardwalk, meet barnyard animals, and collect candy from local businesses, organizations, and partners.

Note: Sunshine Communities is still accepting businesses, organizations, and groups to serve as candy vendors for the event. In 2024, 1,600 people were in attendance.

· WHY: Sunshine’s mission is to create community among people of all abilities. By opening our campus for trick-or-treating, we create a space where children and adults, with and without developmental disabilities, can celebrate side by side in an accessible and meaningful way.

About Sunshine Communities: Sunshine Communities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Northwest Ohio supporting people of all ages with developmental disabilities through residential, vocational, and therapeutic services. In Uptown Maumee, Sunshine owns and operates Georgette’s coffee shop and Sunshine Studios, an inclusive art space and gift shop.
