Summer 2025 Reading Programs for Kids


Looking for some fun ways to keep brain drain at bay this summer? 

Bring on the lazy days of summer! After your kiddos have learned so much this year, making leaps and bounds in both reading and computation skills, are you concerned that a nearly 3-month vacation from the academic rhythm of instruction might have them sliding backwards come the start of school in the fall?  Here are some fun ways to not only keep brain drain at bay but also earn cool prizes, discounts, etc. 

Toledo Lucas County Public Library will be having the Summer Reading Program again this year. It is a great way to keep kids reading during the summer months. Sign up at any local library or at toledolibrary.org  

Pizza Hut, sign up for Camp BOOK IT! and keep rewarding your kids all summer long. Track and reward your kids’ reading for June, July, and  August in a digital dashboard. Barnes and Noble Bookstores: Read eight books this summer and record them in the Summer Reading Journal. Once your journal is complete, you will receive a free book! Reading journals can be picked up at any location.
