Go-to outfits are a wardrobe staple, and I have one for various occasions. It’s a quick outfit I can throw on and feel confident in whether I’m at home relaxing or going out with friends. And feeling comfortable in your clothes is always important, especially when planning some go-to clothing. So, I’ve compiled a couple of tips for creating the perfect go-to outfits so you can make your own.
Have a Base
You need a base to add onto and transform. Start off by looking through your wardrobe and selecting a piece of clothing, whether it’s pants, a dress, a jacket—the list goes on.
I’ll break this down with a personal example. Usually, when I’m going to a summer barbeque, I wear my favorite pair of red pumps. They go with every outfit and add a feisty flash of color. But what I pair them with could differ depending on my mood. And when I don’t know what to add on, I wear my favorite sundress because I always feel beautiful in it!
Know Your Accessories
Accessories are fun, and you can never have too many in your wardrobe. I always keep a variety of belts, hats, purses, and jewelry on hand. And accessories give your outfit the extra personal touches to show off your style.
Now, I love wearing sentimental jewelry. And beads are perfect for summer because they’re fun and go with any base piece. Aim for jewelry that accents your outfit. For a sharp and elegant look with a little black dress, throw on your best pearls! Take it a step further with your favorite red lip gloss. And better yet, you can mix and match accessories to switch up your go-to outfit.
Keep It Comfortable
Never forget the most important factor. Like I said, your personality should shine, so if you’re bright and bubbly, then aim for something bold! When you wear the perfect go-to outfit, you stride with confidence because you know you look incredible.
One of the most important tips for creating the perfect go-to outfits is to remember nothing’s off-limits when it comes to personal fashion. If it’s summer and you want to layer a jean jacket over your romper, then do it. You don’t have to follow the trends, especially when you’re making go-to outfits. The go-to outfit is your first choice when you want to look picture perfect and the backup plan when you don’t know what to wear.
