A Day by the Water

Beach days are a great way to get the entire family outdoors and have fun without spending money. You can enjoy the sand by the beach, or even just a relaxing day at the lake. The kids can swim, moms and dads can read a book or take in some sun, and everyone can enjoy a nice picnic lunch. Just remember to pack your sunscreen to keep the day from turning red on you.

Classic Car Shows

Diehard fans of classic cars love carefully maintaining them and showing them off. Many groups put together free events outside local businesses where everyone can check out these good-looking hot rods. Do a little research into the classic car scene near you to determine where and when these events are available.

A Relaxing Nature Walk

Many local parks have nature trails that are perfect for an afternoon hike. This fun and low-cost activity for the whole family can be a walk around the neighborhood. An excellent way to add some fun to your day of exercise is to make a game out of it. Playing a round of 20 Questions or the alphabet game is a great way to pass the time.

Check Out Your Local Library

Libraries are an excellent way for families to spend time. Not only are there books to read, but many libraries hold events throughout the month, like storytime or club meetings for enthusiasts. A trip to the local library provides an opportunity for everybody to find their fun and, as a bonus, earn a little quiet time.

Saving money feels fantastic, and it feels even better when you can still provide everybody with a day of fun, laughter, and memories. No matter what you and your family decide to do with your free time, you can feel even better knowing it’s genuinely free.
