Tradition!! On Thanksgiving night, after all our family & friends had left my sister, brother, & I would get in our jammies, mom would heat up leftovers, & we all had permission to eat our 2nd Thanksgiving in the living room (extremely rare)while watching the musical, Fiddler on the Roof. TRADTION!! As the years progressed we would say the lines along with the characters, sang along, & yes, we even danced, lol! Thus, to say that Fiddler on the Roof holds a special place in my heart would be an understatement. When I saw Fiddler on the Roof would be live on stage at the Stranahan Theater Oct. 17-20 I about lost my mind, I’m SO excited! Never seen it? Here’s a brief synopsis…
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is a musical about life among the Jewish community of a pre-revolutionary Russian village. A poor milkman, determined to find good husbands for his five daughters, consults the traditional matchmaker – and also has a word with God.
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is a heartwarming story of fathers and daughters, husbands and wives, and life, love and laughter. Featuring the Broadway classics “Tradition,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” and “To Life.”
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF will be live on stage at the Stranahan Theater, Oct. 17-20! And Mom on the go in Holy Toledo followers have the opportunity to be entered to win a family 4-pack tickets to the opening night performance!! (Thursday, October, 17th @ 7:30pm)

Life is a Highway
The first large-scale domestic exhibition provides a historical overview of life on the highway with an emphasis upon the Midwest, Life Is a Highway brings together a diverse selection of artists to showcase the automobile’s reshaping of the 20th-century American landscape and cultural attitudes of self-expression. Featuring more than 100 works from the Toledo Museum of Art’s own collection and both private and public loans, this exhibition charts the rise of auto-mobility as a visual icon of American identity. With works spanning from early depictions through the Pop Artists’ portrayal of the automobile’s impact upon consumer culture to the present, the car’s image as a symbol of newness, freedom and independence, mobility, and renewal is explored. Organized through four themes that call attention to the social, aesthetic, environmental, and industrial dimensions of its legacy, this exhibition includes a range of visual media.

Every note of the soundtrack and every scuff of a shoe are clearer in IMAX, with a complete overhaul of each movie’s audio overseen by the film’s director. All of this pristine sound is then pumped into a theatre that has been customized for an optimal experience. Clarity, detail and size make IMAX more than a movie. It’s time to earn your wings during a visit to Imagination Station’s newest permanent exhibit. The interactive flight simulator, Flight: The Sky’s the Limit will open to the public on Saturday, March 17. The flight simulator experience takes visitors to new heights as they test their aviation skills at the controls of a Saab 340 jet. Before flying the friendly skies, visitors will learn about the science of flight and the variety of STEM careers available in aviation.
The aircraft was donated and customized by presenting sponsor Toledo Jet, with support from students from Toledo Public Schools’ Aviation Center. Students prepared the cabin by disassembling the jet, removing electronics and hardware, and constructing the simulator base in preparation for science center visitors.
The new exhibit is truly a labor of love for David Corwin, owner, Toledo Jet. He became interested in airplanes in eighth grade when he visited the TPS Aviation Program, then Macomber Vocational Technical High School. His wish is to inspire the same interest in Imagination Station visitors.
“I hope this exhibit helps kids realize that an aviation career is not an impossible dream. It’s within reach right here in Toledo,” Corwin said. “The education needed to work in the aviation industry, whether it is pilot or mechanic, is readily available at TPS, and a student can graduate from high school and be immediately employable by the aviation industry.”
Hours: Imagination Station is open 10am – 5pm, Tuesday – Saturday and Noon – 5pm on Sundays. The science center will be open Monday, April 2, for spring break.
Cost: Lucas County residents receive $1.50 discount and FREE Saturday admission for kids 12 & under with paid adult admission.
