4 hours, 3 potty breaks, 2 meals, & 1 car-full of kiddos constantly asking, “How many more minutes”, and we arrived! Well, almost….we parked, paid, hopped on a bus, and, then WOW!!! I think everyone’s jaws dropped, lol!
The scale was just so HUGE!
Full-Size Noah’s Ark
Noah’s Ark was larger than most people realize. At 510 feet long, 51 feet high, and 85 feet wide (converted to modern measurements), the numbers alone do not express the immensity of the biblical ship.
The craftsmanship was astounding! The historic accuracy was very impressive.
Ark Encounter is the largest timber-frame structure in the world, built in part by skilled Amish craftsmen from standing dead timber. Source: https://arkencounter.com/exhibits/
We toured the Living Quarters and had the opportunity to see how Noah and his family might have lived on the Ark, from cooking food to sleeping, recreation, and even gardening!
After viewing all 3 decks and all the exhibits we headed outside for more pics!
Outside the Ark, there’s tons more to do… their 2,500-seat Answers Center hosts daily programs, concerts and presentations, there’s a zoo, zip lining, & awesome massive family playground.
If you are looking for something totally outside the norm to do over Spring Break or Summer Break in 2020 the Ark Encounter is a great family friendly destination especially given the fact that kiddos 10 and under are FREE for all of 2020!!
