Hokkaido Summer
Hokkaido, Japan’s most northern island, is known for being one of the best summer break destinations in Japan. Thanks to its mild climate and breathtaking scenery, people flock there every summer.
Hokkaido is also known for being the birthplace of the world famous Yubari Melon, renowned for its sweet and refreshing flavor. Alongside this, Hokkaido milk is beloved countrywide, being thought of as the highest quality in Japan. This month we were inspired by the flavors of Hokkaido, and are excited to share them with you.
The excitement and anticipation when the box arrived was off the charts. And as we opened our box it was quickly apparent just how much attention, detail, and care went into curating our box. And the amount of treats they were able to place in that box was astonishing, Marie Kondo would be proud, each package was carefully tucked into every nook and cranny.
We slowly opened each treat over the course of a month, reading about each, learning more about the Japanese culture, and most importantly sharing quality time together over an activity we would have otherwise never had the opportunity to experience.
The children had fun sharing some of the tea time treats with their friends. I mean, how cool is it when you can be the kid who had an awesome new exciting treat from a different county, and what’s more, it’s ALL authentic, even the Japanese writing on the package. Yup, these boxes are taking lunch time to the next level, Japanese afternoon tea time level!! Peace out lunchables, there’s a new box in town! Lol!
