Start Small

Don’t try and tackle the entire mess at once. For starters, you don’t have the time in your schedule to do a deep clean. So try and tackle small tasks and take them one day at a time. Look at the areas of your home and pick the room that will stress you out the least.

Then, work your way up to the more troubled areas. By then, you’ll have carved out enough time in your schedule to tackle the bigger tasks. After you finish one room, try and keep it clean. If you start to notice things pile up, pick them up along the way.

Become a Minimalist

Part of the problem is the number of things you have in your home. As parents, it almost becomes a habit to pick up and purchase new gadgets that will entertain the kids. But children’s attention spans are short.

So the minute a new toy or device no longer holds their interest, get rid of it. Donate them to charity and watch how your home significantly downsizes. Take a look at other areas in your home and observe if you want to change out some furniture. Also, swap out some of the chunkier pieces for smaller ones.

Outsource When Necessary

Don’t take on all the work by yourself. You are a busy mom, after all, so it’s OK to ask for help. Consider hiring professionals to declutter your home. You can gear your focus toward other things that need your attention.

Hiring professionals means less stress for you, and they’ll tackle areas of your home you didn’t even consider clearing out. Plus, they’ll supply you with some tips and equipment to help keep your home organized in the future. There’s a lot to expect when hiring decluttering services, but it’s worth it.

Set Up Reminders

Sometimes you need to set a reminder. You can constantly tell yourself that you need to clean, but sometimes, seeing it in writing makes the task sound more obligatory. Set up the reminders for times in your schedule when you know you’ll have a free moment.

Try to keep the tasks small with each reminder. They can be as simple as unloading the dishwasher. You can even schedule nap time for the kids so that you can have a free minute to yourself.

Being a busy mom doesn’t mean your home needs to reflect your hectic schedule. With these tips, you can keep your sanctuary organized.
