If there is one thing that being a new mother teaches you, it’s that there is more to life than you ever thought possible. There are a lot of changes that occur once you become a parent, and one of them is what happens to your career. Being a new parent is overwhelming and the shock of birth followed by maternity leave can give you a lot of time to think about what you want to do. Some mothers don’t go back to their day jobs after they have children because their perspectives have changed. They might not want the 9-5 anymore, because spending time at home doesn’t have enough of a balance anymore.
